| Soon after the Second World War, Nan came to Europe where much of her career was to be centered, at Aix-en-Provence, the Piccola Scala, Glyndebourne, and she appeared as Baba the Turk in the UK premiere of Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress in Edinburgh in 1953. |
