| In 1911 at the age of 15, Conchita starred in the role of Octavian in the Rome première of Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier. The character of Octavian is supposed to be just over seventeen, and since this 1911 Rome première, there has never been another professional performance of Der Rosenkavalier when the singer of this role was actually younger than the fictional character. |
